Factory
In 1962, after many years of experience, apprenticeship and a
family tradition of copper work, Fremide Ruffoni, "II Pipa",
founded RUFFONI. So in love with the beauty and culinary potential
of "the copper", which the writer Nievo celebrated, Il
Pipa established the RUFFONI factory’s tradition of passion,
skill, continual research, and technology to the design and manufacture
of copper which continues to this day.
Even as we embrace modern cooking techniques and prepared foods,
RUFFONI continues Il Pipa 's tradition with items vigorously tested
by professional chefs. RUFFONI remains convinced that "the
culture of copper" treasured for so many centuries will continue
well into the future.
For a recipe to be successful and for the successful realization
of an object in copper the choice of ingredients and methods are
fundamental. We only purchase copper from qualified suppliers.
The tin is produced specially for our firm, using the most advanced
technology to guarantee maximum purity certified with each shipment.
The handles in brass are produced with the ancient method of earth
casting (for the particularly intricate shapes); shell casting
(when particular malleability is required) or pressure die casting
(when further processing is not required). The turning, hammering,
tinning and polishing are all done by hand to guarantee maximum
quality. Our mechanized procedures are done with state of the art
tools.
We consider that a respect for health, which is inseparable
from a respect for the environment, must be our first objective.
Therefore we use exclusively recyclable materials and prefer
manual techniques to chemical processes.
We perfect our creations with research into the aesthetic and
functional aspects of the shapes, the ergonomics of the handles,
the refinement of the details and the quality of the finish.
Did you think that copper articles were all the same? Perhaps
you no longer think so!
